George obtained his LLB from the University of Manchester and his LLM from King’s College, London, before being admitted to the Cyprus Bar in 2009. Over the past years, George has amassed extensive experience in all matters pertaining to complex, cross-border corporate disputes.

Inter alia, he has been involved in shareholders’ disputes, insolvency matters, oppression of minority claims, tracing actions, fraud and conspiracy claims and trust-related litigation. Some of his notable engagements in the recent past include: - Represented, together with Mr. P.G. Polyviou, a high-net-worth individual in a civil fraud case against a claim having a value exceeding USD 830 million, and managed to successfully discharge freezing orders against such individual in the amount of more than USD 830 million.

The case has since been withdrawn. - Represented, together with Mr. P.G. Polyviou, a high-net-worth individual before the Cypriot Courts and managed to successfully discharge freezing orders against such individual in the amount of more than USD 400 million, while also discharging an order for the appointment of a receiver over a number of Cypriot entities. The case has since been withdrawn.

  • Has been advising and representing (alongside Mr. P.G. Polyviou and Mr. L. Arakelian) for a decade a beneficiary of a Cypriot discretionary international trust against claims with a value exceeding EUR 165 million.
     
  • Represented a non-Cypriot beneficiary of an International Cyprus Trust in proceedings initiated against the said beneficiary, as well as the trustees, before the Cypriot Courts. The case has since been withdrawn.
     
  • Successfully represented, together with Mr. P. G. Polyviou, a high-net-worth individual against a multibillion (USD) claim, and managed to obtain the dismissal of a freezing order application against such individual. The case has since been withdrawn.
     
  • Represented, together with Mr. P.G. Polyviou, a high-net-worth individual and managed to successfully discharge freezing orders against such individual in the amount of more than USD 500 million. The freezing orders had been obtained in aid of LCIA proceedings in London. The case has since been withdrawn.
     
  • Represented a high-net-worth individual in proceedings brought against a number of local and foreign defendants and successfully secured injunctions for an amount exceeding USD 70 million, on an ex parte basis. The case is currently pending. George is fluent in Greek and English.
