• Part of a team defending a substantial class action by consumers against a local credit institution involving civil litigation with extra territorial elements, jurisdiction disputes and conflict of laws matters.

• Participated in the preparation, handling and presentation of a request for a preliminary ruling before the European Court of Justice on matters pertaining to EU Regulation on jurisdiction and the recognition and enforcement of judgments in civil and commercial matters.

• Assisted in the preparation and filing of Expert Evidence on matters of Cypriot Law in a set of high-profile proceedings before the Federal Court of Australia. 

• Regularly assists and advises credit institutions in the drafting, review and updating of their standard credit and security documentation in compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements and guidelines.

• Regularly advises credit institutions operating in Cyprus on regulatory / compliance matters such as compliance with Consumer Credit legislation, Central Bank directives and regulations, AML legislation, Data Protection legislation, Payment Systems Directive national legislation etc.

• Has represented and successfully defended clients in proceedings brought by the Data protection Commissioner, inter alia, preparing written addresses in response to prima facie findings of breaches filing submissions for mitigation of penalties. 

• Part of a team that advises a client active in the medical sector in various matters including employment issues, agreements for the acquisition and maintenance of medical equipment, agreements with the Health Insurance Organisation (OAY) for the provision of services through the National General Healthcare System (ΓΕΣΥ) and arrangements for charitable funding for specific projects. 

• Advises clients in the banking sector on matters of compliance with EU / UN / UK / US sanctions in respect of Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons.

• Advises in matters of competition / anti-trust law.

• Has participated in numerous merger notification procedures, assisting in all stages of the process from filing of initial notifications, submissions of supplementary information to the issuance of decisions on confidential information basis.

• Has participated and assisted in the legal due diligence exercises forming part of various major Mergers and Acquisitions projects in the banking, insurance and energy sectors.
